Our terms and conditions explain the rights you, as our customer are entitled to. Please read our T&Cs very carefully and you may have other rights by law that our terms and conditions will not affect in any way.
The following terms and conditions apply to all orders made with made by tree ltd or MBT solid wood craft blanks. By placing an order with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions so please read carefully & feel free to print a copy to read through at your leisure.
Products and descriptions
We take care to photograph and describe our items as accurately as we can. Due to all our products being solid wood, a natural product, this means each item can vary slightly in color, texture and finish so may not be an exact replica of what you see in our images. The same with sample items that are sent - we try to match each item but on larger quantities, items will vary. Each item may have shake lines and anything under 1mm wide and only on one side is part of a natural product. Real wood will also contain knots, sap pockets etc. Plywood may contain birch fillers on reverse. Plaques may move along the grain slightly or cup so do not leave near heat sources such as radiators, coolers or log burners to prevent this. To prevent any movement of wood please store the wood at average room temperature and DO NOT expose our boxes, blanks or furniture to extreme temperature changes both hot or cold as this will create natural movement in any wooden product. Due to the type of stain we use (being non toxic water based) even after sanding through 5 grits the grain flecks may raise slightly on occasion so we recommend 400 grit sandpaper very lightly following the grain to rectify. Shake lines, cracking, knots, movement, fillers, marks on reverse and grain texture are not classed as faults and are more the natural beauty of the wood. We always aim to supply one side with no major faults. Solid wood can be used outside ( not plywood) our stains are outdoor use, stain does not add protection or seal the wood. Any wood going in a high moisture environment or contact with water (kitchen &bathrooms) needs protection, your customer must continue to protect the wood we do not offer a top coat service due to working in a dusty environment this would be down to the end user. Sizes may also vary due to being a natural product and movement of the wood itself.
Bargain seconds bundles
Our bargain seconds bundles are exactly that - they are pieces we deem unsuitable for our standard high quality blanks. Please understand these will have faults, cupping, warping, cracking, knot holes, extra large knots or random sizes. We lovingly sand these bundles to a high standard but each piece will be different. Each bundle contains 10 pieces which will vary in size. One colour choice per bundle except whitewash or wax. Our bundles are non refundable as you are knowingly buying items with faults so they cannot be returned because of faults.
Sizes of items
All our items are handmade using solid A grade FSC approved wood. We hand cut each item of furniture so please understand that we will try and be as accurate as possible on dimensions for furniture but due to saw widths and the amount that may need planing off each plank table width please allow up to 20mm tolerance. Sizes may vary. Any custom made plaques with hangers, holes, nails or custom fixings, please allow for 5mm tolerance on fitting.
Made by tree ltd / MBT reserves the right to change prices on items which may be for a number of reasons - usually an increase in the cost of wood.
Accuracy of product information
The intention of made by tree ltd/MBT is that all information on the website should be as accurate as possible. However, we cannot guarantee the reliability or accuracy of information contained within its pages. All the actions taken by the user of the website are the responsibility of the individual.
Payment and price
The total price of the products or goods will be stipulated at the time you place your order. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price due to an error or omission or if the price published for the goods is wrong, whether or not the order has been confirmed. We will inform you of the correct price and of course the opportunity to cancel the order if you require. All prices are exclusive of shipping which will be payable at the delivery section on completion of your order.
We accept all major credit cards, Paypal and BACS transfers. Upon ordering you must provide us with the correct billing and delivery address. I WILL ONLY SHIP TO SHIPPING ADDRESS ON THE ORDER. Incorrect information may create a delay in your order.
All items are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we do not supply goods for any reason we will refund any money already paid but we will not compensate for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply goods.
All prices are exclusive of delivery charges which can be selected upon checkout. Delivery of items or products may vary and furniture makes are approximately 4-6 weeks but please understand seasonal changes and other things beyond our control can affect times scales. Craft blank orders are usually turned around within 7 working days and hardwood, pyro blanks, boxes, multi plaques and barrels take 14 working days. Bulk orders 500 items + please allow 2-4 weeks. We will try to deliver goods within times stated online but goods are subject to availability and outside elements and delays in delivery may be out of our control. Any dates specified for delivery are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delays. If we are out of stock of any type of wood, we will notify you so you should then allow up to 14 working days for dispatch. If there are any delays beyond 14 working days you will have the right to cancel any order.
As soon as our goods are delivered to you, you are responsible for them. From the time receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk. If there are any transit damage to goods, shortages or incorrect goods we must be notified within 7 days with pictures of goods and packaging via email only at email@example.com
If goods arrive in a damaged condition it is your responsibility to inform us within 14 days from delivery. This must include photographs of the damage for us to inspect and packaging to provide to our carrier. If there are any shortages we must be notified within 14 days from delivery.
It is your responsibility to notify me of any shortages or incorrect good supplied. Mistakes made on your part will not be refunded or replaced but mistakes made by us will either be refunded or replaced.
We will not accept liability for goods lost in transit unless we are notified within 14 days from expected delivery date. As all packages are sent signed for, we will track information and refund after 15 days of the items not arriving. Any items that appear signed for will no longer be our responsibility.
Personalised and custom made items CANNOT be returned or refunded.
Please always check your spelling carefully as we will always print/sketch/burn exactly what has been sent so always treble check as any mistakes made on your part will not be replaced or refunded free of charge.
If you are not totally satisfied with your order you have the right to cancel within 14 days (unless custom or personalised - please see above) it is your responsibility to return goods in pristine and sale-able condition in their original box and packaging & have to be returned to us signed for or tracked. You will be solely responsible for the return of the goods and any associated costs of return. Goods received back incomplete, damaged or in any condition other than sale-able will not be refunded. If you wish to return any product please contact us within 14 days. If you do not return goods within 14 days after you have informed us that you wish to cancel your order, your right to cancel will be revoked.
If an item is received after an expected date we do apologise but as it is out of our control and there will be no refund
To confirm, we must be notified of any mistakes, missing items, damage, change of mind or general returns within 14 days of you receiving the items. Once notifying us that you are returning an item, you have 14 days to return those items.
